Radio Redux – Season 5 (2010)
2010 came along and so did a lot of change; Radio Redux initiated another first with it becoming the first show to livecast on both SEGASonic:Radio and RadioSEGA simultaneously, the only show to feature on both stations.
The Sonic Wrecks crew moved to a new location and staff member Blake Draco (now known as Dusk) moved in and became Kevin’s main broadcast partner. That and Summer of Sonic’s usual was its usual amazingness with the announcement of Crush 40 playing the convention.
SEASON FIVE - TRIVIA
- “The 104th Show” is… exactly as advertised. Mainly because the team didn’t realise they’d hit show #100.
- Show #100 ended up being “The Mystery Sonic Wrecks Theatre 3000 Show” a promised/threatened episode of Radio Redux where the team did a commentary on an old episode of The Sonic Hour when it missed broadcast yet again.
- #096: “The Scouting For Gender Non-Specific Show” was a reference to rock band Scouting for Girls.
- #108: “The Movin’ Out (AAUK’s Song) Show” is a reference to Billy Joel song Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song).
- #113: “The Serves You Right Show” stands as the shortest episode to date, not counting Episode 0. The decision was unanimously made by all three hosts to call the IRC chat’s bluff after their overall rudeness made it so that the team no longer wanted to broadcast. At the time Kevin likened it to an incident Billy Connolly mentioned in his autobiography – going on stage only for someone to immediately yell “get off”, Billy replied “certainly” before heading straight off again, never having begun performing.
- Kevin’s He-Man/Toys ‘R’ Us story from when he was a kid (#116) is one of his favourite Radio Redux moments.
