Wreck-It Ralph Gains Oscar Shortlist Powerup
Things are getting better and better for Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph. After a great release in America (with the European release occurring in February), the film has one more nod to its name. It has officially been recognised by the Oscars, getting a nomination for Best Animated Film. It goes up against Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, Pixar’s Brave, Laika’s ParaNorman and Aardman’s Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists.
This is a tough category, traditionally dominated by Pixar with films such as WALL-E and Up, while Aardman’s last film in this category (Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the WereRabbit) scored an Oscar too. So will we see Wreck-It Ralph win the ultimate prize, or will it be Game Over at the final hurdle? We’ll have to wait and see…
The Oscars are announced on 24th February. For more information, as well as a full list of all the other categories, you can find it here (via the BBC)
