Sega Getting into Movie Making?

Something very interesting (but yes, it’s still a rumor) has been leaked via SegaWeb; could Sega start making movies soon?

According to reports, though not confirmed by Sega Enterprises, Sega is funding a joint movie and videogame project. The game will hit stores at the same time the movie sees theatrical release.

The movie project from Asia is said to star up-and-comer Daniel Wu from Hong Kong along with Cathy Chow and Jade Leung. Filmed entirely in English, the movie could be released worldwide, though that is pure speculation at this point.

The entire project – both game and movie – are expected to cost $10 million. Chump change by movie standards (and videogame standards when you consider the monstrous costs of Shenmue).
