SXSW 2017: Vocal Theme Revealed For Sonic Forces, More…
Apparently, there will be more gameplay coming tomorrow. I was under the impression that was it.

Honestly, after Lost World, I hope the Wisps are just used for the Boost. Not the biggest fan of them.
Basically everything that I didn’t want back is back. I really didn’t want the Wisps and Boost gameplay to return, and I don’t want Classic Sonic back. Think I’m gonna skip this one. Nothing about it so far really catches my eye.
Don’t worry the third gameplay style will be shit tier 3D platforming and minigames
I still wouldn’t buy it. Game doesn’t look fun.
Tbh, I’m slightly opposite. Mainly because from the bits they showed there, it’s level design seems to be more like Unleashed, fast paced and action-filled than the clunky stiff 2D Platforming of Colors.
Not to mention the stage they showed off was actually pretty cool looking. Sure it’s a city under destruction like in the trailer, but the extra color and hearing all those explosions and all that just makes it look rather cool.
Idk, I’m still somewhat optomistic
Personally, I think that Sonia Forces looks and sounds amazing so far. I personally love the boost formula, Classic Sonic gameplay, and I’m loving that amazing song that they shared. Sure, I was hoping the wisps weren’t going to be back, but I can overlook them. I’m fine with Sonic having power ups, so the wisps aren’t offending me. Also, the fact that there is going to be a 3rd playable character is really pumping me up. I already know that I’m probably going to like Modern Sonic’s gameplay, and if Classic Sonic is just an updated version of his Generations gameplay, then I’m fairly certain that I’m going to like that too. I have no doubt that Sonic Team will come through on this game. I mean, it has been in development for, at the very least, 4 years.
Graphically, from what I can tell, this is definitely going to be the best looking Sonic game, by far, and I couldn’t be happier!! The effects of Sonic’s jump and boost look so clean, and all the stuff going on in the background just add a ton of energy to the level!! Also, don’t even get me started on Sonic’s animation!! Just him running, without the boost, looks so crisp!!
I know that we’ve literally only seen 15 seconds of the game, but if it controls as good as Generations, has more levels, and has a more interesting story, then I’m completely sold on this game. Sonic Team has really impressed me this time around.
Any room for Tails flying or Knuckles gliding in this boost-to-win 2.5D rehash? Or is this resistance game just about a blue hedgehog (and his early incarnation) running through apocalypta, while the “resistance” watches.
But seriously, I want to take Ohtani’s violin, smash it in half, and force him to play the electric guitar.
Keep orchestras out of Sonic games!
Sonic Unleashed’s “The World Adventure” track would beg to differ.
Not saying that there should be just orchestra based music, but there has been legit good orchestrated Sonic songs. Hell 06’s music was a rock/orchestra mix for the main theme and menu music and that sounded awesome. It’s just that Lost World’s “Wonder World” was painfully generic and boring, just like the rest of Lost World.
“boost-to-win 2.5D rehash’
You got all of this from just 30 seconds of footage?
We haven’t seen but one-third of the gameplay…
In truth, yes, I have.
I’ve seen how Sonic moves in the video. Just as stiff as Sonic Unleashed ever was. A true platformer moves in any 360 degree angle. Sonic here moves in a fixed direction with almost no fluidity. You can’t even spin dash, let alone in any direction you want. I know what a boost-to-win game looks like.
Well, I can’t complain since we’re also getting Manía, and everything it encompasses.
I’m not a fan of the Boost formula, it goes right next to any other genre where once beat, I never pick the game up again.
The wisps, I’m torn. I like some of them (Spin, Still, and to an extent hover) but others I dislike.
Orchestra music > generic rock riffs.
But I’m not opposed to having one or two rock tracks un the game.
I only hope Sonic controls well when not boosting.
I suppose 3rd gameplay will be Adventure?
I want to say “please not Boom” but I’m keeping my expectations in check.
In spite of this all sounding negative, I’m still pretty excited for this game. Not Mania excited, but “good 3D Sonic” excited.
Sonic Forces’s main theme was incredible, gameplay was incredible, I have nothing against any of the games (Boom I like to think was made by a seprate company), and ’06 I find good stuff about (All Hail Shadow, Shadow himself, the other musical tracks, even Silver’s character) and I like (Plz dont killz mez) Modern Sonic’s (and to an extent, Adventure) gameplay more than classic. This looks incredible. Amazing. SEGA. DONT. YOU. DARE. SCREW. THIS. UP.
