Shenmue III Release Delayed to November
It’s not like the most dedicated Shenmue fans didn’t have the patience of a saint to begin with. Years of pleas for a follow-up to the celebrated Yu Suzuki-produced series were supposed to build to the release of Shenmue III this August.
That wait will now be a little longer.
In an announcement on the project’s Kickstarter page this morning, a post credited to both Suzuki and developer Deep Silver announced Shenmue III will now be released on November 19th, missing its target date by four months.
“Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished,” the message read. “We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve!”
The new date puts Shenmue III in the middle of what is traditionally a busy period of AAA releases in building to the Holiday season.
