Sega Celebrates Sonic's 18th with Swag

Sega hasn’t forgotten about Sonic’s birthday.

The European division, and more specifically Blognik head ArchangelUK will be giving away tons of prizes through Twitter and Facebook.

On Twitter, the promotions will run in similar vein to Sega’s Free Stuff Friday giveaways, except you’ll be following the @sonicgames feed, and NOT the @SEGA feed.  Due to an influx of Twitter followers that resulted in the contest’s announcement late yesterday, AAUK is asking participants to reply to @sonicgames on Twitter, and NOT direct message the feed.  According to the Blognik post, the Twitter giveaways will be handled this way:

We will announce which swag pack we are giving away and a special code phrase – e.g “Knuckles The Echidna Rocks!”.  [….]  In order to help those who don’t have lightning fast connections we’ll often specify that a specific response (the 5th, 8th, 15th, etc) will win the prize. We then repeat the process until all the swag packs are taken.

In addition, Sonic’s Facebook page will also hold several giveaways, and AAUK also specified how those contests will be run:

We will announce which swag pack we are giving away and then ask for wall posts/comments on a topic of our choosing.  The best comment in our opinion after approximately 30 mins will win the prize.
