Alleged First DC Commercial Clarification

Zifei updated the Sonic HQ News site stating this:

You know the commercial that has the 9-9-99 at the end with “it’s coming”? Well, it’s NOT a DC commercial in contrast to what the other sites are reporting. It’s actually a commercial about the upcoming MTV Musical Awards on 9-9-99. Why else do you think Sega is sponsoring that event? Just letting you know. The first DC commercial on TV will hit in late July.
