‘Air Raid Vehicle’ is a refence to the subtitle of Limp Bizkit song “Rollin'”.
I cannot begin to tell you how long it took to get this title to look like the Billy Hatcher font, but in short: far too long.
As mentioned previously, this comic was actually completed before #001 but was bumped as ‘A Tall Drink Of Water’ was a ‘reactionary’ comic.
This comic is actually based on one DoubleXXCross did several years ago, originally it was just a four-panel sketch. However Kevin saw it when the pair were going through DoubleXXCross’s old Tumblr works and suggested reworking and expanding it slightly to be an LMC comic.
This is why the writing credits at the top are somewhat different to how they are usually.
Frames 4 and 5 are the additions to the original, incidentally.
The comic is essentially “What if Billy Hatcher turned up in Sonic Adventure?”
The first line of the disclaimer is the first line of “Rollin'” but with the addition of a reference to Billy Hatcher character Rolly Roll.
The SEGA Superstars/All-Stars series where Billy and Sonic (used to) regularly crossover is mentioned… which naturally (or is that inevitably at this point) transitions into a reference to Smash Mouth’s song “All Star”.
DoubleXXCross’s description “Crows? You mean The Black Organisation?” is a reference to both Detective Conan (aka Case Closed) and sister series Magic Kaito.
Kevin’s description “There is no sign of the chicken!” is a line from dark Disney film Return To Oz.
The ‘advice’ about Last Minute Continue is a reference to Billy Hatcher theme song “Chant This Charm” – “Chant this charm, you’ll feel so good.”
