Fan Fridays: Sonic & SEGA Fan Jam
It’s one thing to create a piece of artwork or music to show your love for a game company, but it’s another thing entirely to put on a dedicated convention- this week, we’re featuring one such event! Spearheaded by the good folks over at SEGAbits, the Sonic & SEGA Fan Jam is a yearly event that celebrates all things SEGA. It’s a completely fan-sponsored convention that covers lots of different activities, including tournaments, cosplay contests, film screenings, and more.
This year, the organizers are hoping to get a little more financial momentum going into the event, so they’re teaming up with the Brotaku YouTube channel to hold a fundraising livestream later this month. The stream will feature multiple SEGA and Sonic games alongside broader content like Rare Replay and Halo: The Master Chief Collection with some guest appearances thrown in for good measure. The aforementioned stream will be held on August 11th at 12PM EST, and you can watch it here. If you don’t want to wait until the livestream to donate, you can make a pledge here, and we encourage you to do so if you’re interested in the event and and want to support it going forward.
The 2015 Sonic & SEGA Fan Jam will be held in Savannah, GA later this year. We thank PunkGam3r of Brotaku for bringing the Jam and livestream to our attention. As always, we’re on the lookout for fan works to spotlight, so if you have a project you want the world to know about, send us a link at fansonfriday@tssznews.com!
Pretty cool! Its uncanny how there are still several hardcore Sega fans after the recent lack of good games from Sega, I will catch the livestream.
“Well you know what can I say, I die hard.”
