Sonic Toon Trailer Uploaded
By now just about everyone has played both versions of Sonic Boom and just about all aspects of the game are now known. However one country has yet to get the game: Japan. The game, entitled Sonic Toon in that region, doesn’t release in Japan until December 18th and the promotion for the game continues over there with a new trailer that shows off both versions with loads of gameplay.

This ought to be interesting. Think the Japanese will be polished up more than the other versions?
I don’t think so I think it’ll just be the same game but in Japanese I wonder how the reviews are going to be for it when it hits Japan
I think the games issues are the result of an error. According to Tailschannel, the demo runs better, both graphics and framerate wise. https://mobile.twitter.com/TailsChannel/status/540173486023802880
Or hopefully they will release a patch that (tries to) resolve several glitches and gameplay issues before December 18 and the game will arrive like that in Japan.
Patches can only do so much. They may be able to fix some of the bugs, but fixing things like framerate issues is probably too much to hope for.
well in australia we seem to have a more polished version, as watching reviews it seems that most of the bugs were fixed in the australian release
I’d be extremely surprised if that’s the case; the AUS release will have been made from the same master as the US and EU releases.
well im just saying following gamegrumps, i have seen multiple differences between their version and mine
This looks exactly the same as the other versions. Considering Sonic isn’t even that popular in Japan, Sonic Toon may suffer a worse fate than its North American counterpart.
Apparently, the Japanese demo runs smoother than the western release of the full game. Weird. http://board.sonicstadium.org/topic/19399-sonic-boom-rise-of-lyric-eshop-demo-screenshots/
I’ll be shocked if it sells more than 15,000 copies lifetime in Japan. It’s honestly not worth the hassle, and will only further damage the Sonic reputation in Japan.
