Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap Wonder Boy and Wonder Girl Introduced

New information regarding to Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, this time highlighting the new design for the titular Wonder Boy. However in addition to Wonder Boy, players also have the ability to optionally play as a female counterpart called Wonder Girl (Not to be confused with Asha from Monster World IV). Just like the rest of the game, Wonder Girl will receive a 8-bit style when switched over to the “Retro” style.

The official PlayStation Blog post for the news also goes into more detail over conceptualizing Wonder Boy, Wonder Girl, and the animal transformations. They were originally viewed from their 8-bit renditions and given a modern overhaul, with Wonder Boy in particular receiving several design changes due to the character having several interpretations from different games and consoles.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is slated for a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch release on April 18th, with a PC version arriving on a later date in 2017.
