The Blue Blur And The Blue Bomber Join Forces!
Now for those who stay up-to-date with Archie Comics, you’ll probably know that they’ve got the license to start publishing Mega Man comics last year, right? You couldn’t have missed the advertisements, I mean, look at how many there are!
So, whats that got to do with Sonic?
Well, just this morning, history is being made, Archie Comics have announced that Sonic and Mega Man will be teaming up for a 12 Issue Crossover! Starting somewhere in 2013, the sure to be action packed comic event will travel through 3 titles which includes Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic Universe and Mega Man. Seems likely to be 4 months on each.
According to USA Today, where the announcement was first revealed, the current editor of all three books, Paul Kaminski had heard both SEGA and Capcom had approved the crossover back in October. His first call was to Ian Flynn, current writer for all three titles, who already had material thought up.
“His response was, ‘I have been writing that story since we began the Mega Man title,’ ” Kaminski says. “Of course, I thought he was joking, but not an hour later my inbox was flooded with Sonic/Mega Man story synopses.”
Ian Flynn, in addition says. “I’m already living the dream by writing the Sonic titles. Then I got to live the other dream of writing for Mega Man. With that many dreams being handed to me, I figured it was only a matter of time.”
