TGS 2015: Yakuza 6 & Yakuza 1 Remastered Announced

Yakuza has a busy year ahead.

Tokyo Game Show 2015 unofficially began last night with a conference from Sony. There it was confirmed that Yakuza 1, known in Japan as Ryu ga Gotoku Kiwami, would be remastered for a January 2016 release in Japan on Playstation 4 to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary. The game will not only receive a graphic update but areas removed from the original game will be added back in for the remaster. A trailer was also released along with an official website.

That wasn’t all. The next instalment in the franchise was also announced. Yakuza 6, known in Japan as Ryu Ga Gotoku 6, was confirmed to be a Playstation 4 exclusive title and will be released in Japan Fall 2016.
