Sonic Forces Casino Forest Level Revealed
Earlier today, SEGA gave the world a look at a brand-new Classic Sonic level in Sonic Forces: Casino Forest. The stage design presents an intriguing combination of two popular Sonic zone tropes: a bustling neon casino nestled among jungle trees, ruins, and vines. The stage brings to mind many zones from past Sonic games, including Casino Night Zone and perhaps even some Sylvania Castle Zone as well. We’ve included gameplay footage of the new stage below.
The lack of enemies makes me think this is either an early build or this part of the story involves sneaking into something when nobody expects attack
If you watched the IGN video, Tails is talking to Classic Sonic as they try to find Eggman, so you were spot on
As Is this level. I love the aesthetics and music to boot. I get a good kick out of neon.
I don’t know what it is, but literally every part of this FEELS like it was developed with resentment.
Sonic Forces: a game whose dev team was FORCED to make a game against their will. Sigh.
The level design looks bad. All these pinball bumpers look annoying and not fun to deal with.
Clearly you haven’t played the Sky Road levels in Sonic Lost World 3DS. Compared to those monstrosities, this level is a godsend.
Sonic lost world 3ds was good. Sky road 2d was fun. The were many alternate paths and nothing overstayed.
Well I guess it confirm the feeling stated in the preview of Sonic Stadium https://www.sonicstadium.org/2017/09/sonic-forces-egx-2017-hands-on-impressions/
Here is aggravated list of most of the Sonic Force hands-on impressions so far. Most of opinions so far are actually positive. (Interestingly, Sonic Stadium falls in the minority with a few Nintendo fan sites):

…. Lol c’mon man… One of those “positive” previews is a link to the TGS live stream
Several others are one line of text.
And have you even read the Mirrors article? They get everything wrong to an almost comical degree.
Also if you’re really going to include 1 line reviews, go to Twitter and type “Sonic Forces *insert swear words here* and enjoy the feedback.
Classic Sonic looks like he plays fine, but the level design is just so uninspired. That and the forest/casino theme they’re going for really doesn’t mesh well together. It honestly looks like something straight out of Sonic 4.
Still looking forward to it. Got it pre-ordered on Steam.
Small precision, it was a reaction to the reddit link of Hifihedgehog
It looks like they recycled the 2d casino portion of Frozen Factory with the ruins portion of Silent Forest and modeled Casino Forest like a generic casino stage.
I was really looking forward to this game but with each thing new clip that drops you just know it’s going to suck… I can see another 4/10 Sonic game on the horizon. Sonic Team doesn’t seem to have a clue what they’re doing with this one.
The price has already dropped to 25 quid… that’s can’t be a good sign, can it?
“The price has already dropped to 25 quid… that’s can’t be a good sign, can it?”
My understanding is that is a pre-release special select retailers are holding, but, by and large, the pricing is generally the standard amount at most retailer. For example, in the United States, there is a $33.99 special at Bundle Stars for the Steam version but the standard $39.99 price remains at most other retailers including Steam itself.
^No, it is unreasonable to expect me to hold a serious, mature, productive conversation with an individual when they launch an aggressive, irrational, emotionally charged reply like you did above in response to what I posted. It should not be expected of anyone to reply to that when that person begins with a sarcastic question, that person uses extreme vocabulary like “only”, and then that person dismisses any other viewpoint as inferior or illogical. You did not make any attempt to communicate “with” me but instead what you did instead was essentially shout “at” me in written form and I cannot reasonably hold a discussion with an angry individual who is not in a state of mind to listen or consider another point of view. I will say this: I think you are deeply offended by my findings that show that most people hold an opinion different from your own or The Sonic Stadium’s. All I posted was the truth, that most people wrote or described detailed, measured observations about what they experienced in playing Sonic Forces, and reasonably weighing the pros and cons, they largely came to positive conclusions. Ultimately, I think, given the enormity of my findings, it is very difficult for you to come to terms with the fact that you and The Sonic Stadium may actually have come to the wrong conclusions after all and you cannot handle that with a modicum of decency or self-control.
Aggresive toward you nop, disapointed that you use this reddit post yeah, I usualy expect more from your comment here.
But well here another example from the preview of that post https://www.reddit.com/r/SonicTheHedgehog/comments/7285po/sonic_forces_handson_impressions_from_egx/
This preview report the mostly the exact same issue spoted by Sonic Stadium, in fact 3/4 of that preview are about bad thing that this player found in the game.
And still, for him the game is still good and the preview tagged as a positive one on reddit, I’m sorry but for me this preview is a complet nonsense that I could only explain by the “fanboy perspective” and this is precisely what I criticize to the 3/4 of the preview selected in this Reddit post, they are almost ALL taken from an fanboy / hater perspective.
@Novarek: That is because overall Cheatster9000x found the issues were minor at worst and not worth getting flustered by, and in the case of some issues that TSS found, he found them to actually be improvements. Turning away from his impression, I found this to be the case in many other aspects of the TSS review as well, such as where they mention the player having to point and aim for homing attack. Previously, on the one hand, homing attack has auto-locked and thus largely only allowed the user to home on the nearest enemy without the ability to select a different nearby enemy. Now, on the other hand, one of the positive impressions pointed out that this adjustment was actually an advantage and a return to the way homing attack was originally implemented in the Adventure series, thereby giving the player more control over the homing attack mechanic. The homing attack is one example of a way the game is actually making improvements over more recent games and bringing back some of the best elements in the franchise.
Calm down.
@Hifihedgehog I’m sorry but i’ve read quitte the opposite on TSS about the homing attack, that indead even by aiming toward an enemy, the game will still target the enemy toward the stage direction and not toward your actual direction once a chain of homing attack as started.
“You approach enemy A and homing attack it, you then lock onto enemy C, the game will not allow you to attack enemy B. Even if you can still see it and aim for it, the moment you pass it you have to go forward.”
In celebration of this wonderful new stage and its excellent execution, here are some smooth and cool jazzy music cover videos of the Sonic 2 stage that is its inspiration–Casino Night Zone:

Oh boy, yeah you are indeed clearly a fanboy…
I don’t know, question like…
– Where are the enemy?
– Where are the level hazar (only 2 spiky ball saw in the entire video)?
– Why so many dash pad ?
– Why so many ring if no threat in the level ?
Diden’t hit your mind?
You care way too much.
Or people care way too less?
I just want a good Sonic game that all and Sega will never raise the bar if public expectation are so low, why they would?
The level has high contrast. It very pretty.
This level looks okay, It the first okay level so far. It has path ways, rings, and other nonsense. It meet the standard but it not that good, just okay due to the scripting, lighting, and useless rings.
Looking at it, it reminds me of the ancient ruins(Gaia temples) from Sonic Unleashed.
