Poll: 55% Not Concerned with Sonic Anniversary Despite Recent Sega Departures

The results of the latest TSSZ News @Issue poll indicate that despite more than one departure from Sega of late, and a continued lack of big Sonic announcements from the company so far this year, a majority of participants aren’t worried.

Out of 489 votes, 55 percent said they were no worried about the coming anniversary.  But a significant number, 45 percent, said they were concerned.

We reported previously that Kevin Eva has left his post as community manager at Sega Europe.  During this poll, TSSZ News also learned Fabian Doehla, working with Sega’s PR division at San Francisco, has also left that division to return to Europe.  There’s that and then you may remember Alan Pritchard saying there would be “2 or 3” Sonic related announcement in the first quarter of the year.  At the end of March, no such announcement has occurred.

  1. Well technically, SASASR for iOS and the new Adventure Soundtrack release count as announcements. At least the former, anyway, if music doesn’t count.

  2. The earthquake has kinda-sorta screwed up any of Sega’s plans for releases and announcements…

  3. You can’t just lump issues like that together, Tristan. The previous poll didn’t say anything regarding the lack of announcements, and thus that should not have ever factored into the voting.

  5. Even the Sonic Channel Calendars are no longer updated 🙁 I made sure I had those printed out monthly on my wall in my office. Someone plz take over that before I ball my eyes out. I guess I could make my own I suppose but those calendars are so ummm perfectly made.

    The absence of announcements may be the result of the Japan disaster, despite that the apparent de-facto responsibilities assumed by SOA may saved some things…
