Shadow Announced as Playable Character in Sonic Forces

Fans of the Ultimate Life Form have something big to celebrate today: SEGA has officially announced that Shadow the Hedgehog will be a major playable character in Sonic Forces thanks to the Episode Shadow add-on. This DLC pack will feature story content that focuses on the “mysterious backstory” between Shadow and Infinite, which includes three additional Shadow-exclusive stages. The pack will also enable Shadow to play through over 10 Modern Sonic stages.

We’ve included the official gameplay trailer for Episode Shadow below. Episode Shadow will be free for all owners of Sonic Forces and will launch alongside the game on November 7th worldwide for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Burbank, California — September 19, 2017 — SEGA® announced today that fans can now pre-order the Digital Bonus Edition of Sonic Forces™ for $39.99 ($54.99 CAD) for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Digital Bonus Edition will also include the previously announced SEGA/ATLUS PACK Add-On, which offers a variety of in-game outfit items and accessories to recreate the look of five other SEGA/ATLUS icons for your Hero Character.

 

SEGA also revealed today that there will be an Episode Shadow Add-on available starting on launch day. The Episode Shadow Add-On focuses on the mysterious backstory between Shadow and Infinite and includes an additional three Shadow stages plus the ability to replay as Shadow in over 10 Modern Sonic Stages. As a thank you to fans, the Episode Shadow Add-On will be FREE to everyone who purchases Sonic Forces, including those that have already pre-ordered the Physical Bonus Edition. On top of that, if you pre-order the Digital Bonus Edition, you’ll also receive a Shadow costume for your Hero Character.
