Rumour: Bayonetta 2 Canned?

I suppose its to be expected given the downsizing and Platinum Games history of critically acclaimed but financially unsuccessful games but SPOnG currently have a rumour up indicating that it a sequel to the majestic adventures of the leggy witch has bitten the dust.

Citing a source that claims, amongst other things that work had begun on at least pre-planning including the creation of a new character with an american military connection. Her imminent appearance in ANARCHY REIGNS aside, this will be seen as a hammer blow to those who held up Bayonetta as one of SEGA’s most staggering games of recent years.
