This morning, Archie Comics released a formal preview to the final issue of Sonic Universe‘s Silver Saga.

The issue features the epic battle between Silver and Enerjak, a battle of two different kinds of power. Ian Flynn penned the script. Tracy Yardley, Phil Felix, Jim Amash, and Ray Dillion share art duty. Ben Hunzeker join Yardley and Amash for cover art.

The cover and first five pages follow Archie’s formal synopsis.

Amazing~! Enerjak smacked Silver with Angel Island 8D

KO’d for most of 30 years later, screwing up his traitor hunt twice, Silver better win this fight. Plus that stealing cores thing is too evil, leaving the victims empty husks, too disturbing for Knux.

EVERYTHING that’s wrong with the franchise…
As long as they keep this crap confined in the comics, though, all is well.

Everything that’s right with a comic book franchise. Excellent villain, fun fights…good stuff here.

This is out of curiosity, but what about the franchise do you think is wrong in the comic?

Ooohh I don’t know what’s wrong… the fact that they named “Freedom Fighters” the entire assembly of shitty friends? That one last shitty friends has the SWORD OF ACORNS? And that her powerful ally is a HEDGEHOG who is also named Silver because his color is silver? And who has special powers? And you have something that’s a “concentrated spirit”?
Maybe it’s also troubling that one of Sonic’s shitty friends is actually way more powerful than Sonic is. And can fight a “demi-god”. And looks almost exactly like modern Sonic, except for some subtle yet crappy changes.
Seriously, I really think you can have all that incredibly awful crap in your comic books. I don’t mind. I’ll just repeat that the reason those awful, awful comics exist in the first place is because Sonic’s franchise has lost its original focus and vibrant design vision.
Enjoy your furry Dragonball Z wannabe shit. With all its tired clichés and juvenile plot. I just hope this cancer never infests the games, that’s all.

Yes, because Silver was TOTALLY an Archie creation, and not something Sega made at all. Nope. No way. Sega had nothing to do with that. Can you imagine what would have happened if Sega had created Silver? They’d probably try to pass off a black and red angsty recolor of Sonic next, or have Sonic make out with a human….
I’m so glad it’s NOT Sega doing those things. Yep.

The comics are one of the symptoms, that’s all. That people like this shit is mind-boggling. It’s like enjoying hearing the coughing of a person who has tuberculosis.
Anyway, as Chris Pontius tells Steve-O just before he gets thrown up in the air, at the final part of Jackass 3: “enjoy your shit”.

sooooo, u hate it because it doesn’t appeal to u? That’s cool, but u don’t need to flame others because of it. If u like the games over other aspects of the franchise that’s fine, but don’t be a douche about it posting crap like “everything that’s wrong with the franchise because I said so”. If THIS bothers u and u enjoy games like 06 and the other slew of lackluster material SEGA has fed us, u might want to just leave the fandom….lol

What the heck’s with all the people arguing? Dude, if you don’t like the comic, then don’t look at it. What are you doing here anyway if you don’t like it? Hating on others who do? Because that certainly seems like what you are doing. It’s as simple as clicking the pretty little back button.
ANYWAY, I can’t wait to read this rest of this. Silver is my favorite character and I’m anxious to see what happens. And I do agree with jingoi about Silver needing to win this. I really don’t like how they made him knocked out for most of the 30 Years Later saga. He’s a kid, sure, but he’s smarter than that.
