Hatsune Miku Tour in Limbo after Coachella Postponement
Hatsune Miku, the Vocaloid virtual superstar that has some reps in real concert settings, was to make her biggest debut next month at Coachella festival.
But on Tuesday evening, organizers for the gold standard in music festivals officially postponed the festival to November amid local government efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus in California and the rest of the United States. Doing so may have been a backbreaker for the entire North American leg of Miku’s upcoming tour.
Currently, the tour is to begin April 3rd in British Columbia, with stops in San Jose, Dallas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, and other locales.
It still officially remains to be seen whether the other venues will also have to wait until the Fall. We will keep you informed of any developments.
Though Sega does hold the license to produce titles based on Hatsune Miku, they have no direct ownership stake in the concert tour.
