First 2 Seasons of Sonic X Now on Netflix
On Sunday, Sonic X joined the wide array of children’s programming now available on Netflix.
Only the first 52 episodes, or two out of the three seasons produced, are currently available. Only the 4Kids version broadcast on domestic TV can be streamed. Nowhere to be found–except Hulu–is the third season, known as the Metarex Saga, or the uncut Japan-subbed episodes.
There have also been some community complaints concerning the thumbnails used for each episode not exactly showcasing the main cast:
If streaming isn’t your thing, remember that the complete 78 episode series is available on Blu-Ray.
That’s on point though the show was obsessed with it’s stupid cast of generic anime trope humans and used them as a crutch rather than actually focusing on the Sonic cast, it’s the same logic as to why they replaced the tornado with a Macross Valkyrie knockoff. Even the wacky third season that was closer to the stuff Sonic Team was putting out at the time couldn’t let Chris go so they pull a asspull to him being a kid again.
Can’t say I’d want to ever revisit this show especially with the 4kids voices
Sonic X came from the Adventure era.. which incorporated the cast being in a human world, or Earth rather. So idk, even though the whole Chris dynamic was a tad corny and pointless, I do feel as if that was just a very Adventure-era dynamic. Honestly, out of any Sonic show, X is closer to the canon than anyone of them even though it’s not canon.. their designs weren’t changed, besides the planet situation nobody’s character traits or backgrounds were changed AND it’s the only show that featured events from the games.
As more media messes up Sonic, I can appreciate X a bit more since it’s an anime and atleast tried to keep some canon stuff in there.
