Boom Sonic & Modern Sonic To Appear In World’s Unite Crossover
It seems the main Sonic and Mega Man universes won’t be all that will get tied up in the upcoming sequel to the big Sonic/Mega Man crossover. IGN has confirmed that the Boom universe and Sonic Team universes will both get into a tangle during the saga:
“Not one, but TWO new casts will be joining the battle in this summer’s Sonic/Mega Man WORLDS UNITE crossover event! The worlds of Sonic Boom and Mega Man X will be joining the fray, accompanying the worlds of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man in the biggest crossover event in Archie Action history! ” said Archie Action editor Paul Kaminski.
A new promotional poster was put up as well. You can see it below.

Knew it!
This sounds like it would piss off a group of people so much, I’d be happily surprised if there wasn’t a single death threat written to anyone associated with this.
How in the world would something as trivial as this tigger death-threats?
…….Seriously?
Seriously. :/
I know, isn’t it exciting?! 🙂
I’m kind of getting tired of them using crossovers as an excuse to get away from actual plot.
Well, the order came from Sega & Capcom. The first crossover was a success, so they decided to do another,
I think it’s also because they want more people to buy the Mega Man comics.
Which I have no problem supporting.
Sticks: Are you part of some government agency sent here to force me to watch Justin Bieber?
Mega Man X: Why would I even do something like that? And who’s Justin Bieber?
Zero enters the fray!!
To shake things up a little bit it would be nice if at some point Modern Sonic cast teamed up with Megaman X cast and at the same time somewhere else the Megaman cast teamed up with Sonic Boom cast.
That’s gonna be a heck of a thing, can’t wait! 😀
Knuckles from the main series meeting his Boom persona…
Ooooh yes.
Gotta admit, I want to see this. Just for the Modern Archie cast’s reaction to the crazy Boom cast.
Archie Sonic: “Do you even go Super?”
Boom Sonic: “What’s that?”
Archie: “I am disappoint.”
And of course, Serious Business no nonsense guy Archie Knux meeting goofy meat head Boom Knux will be a sight to see.
I called it!
Mega Man: Heya Sonic! It’s been a while. Hmmmm, since when did you start wearing a scarf?
Sonic: *sigh* I’ll explain everything on the way to Eggman’s lair.
*One Trip Later*
Mega Man: Hey umm Sonic, since when was Dr. Eggman so buffed up?
Sonic: *facepalm*
😀
inb4 he sees Knuckles
Yeah. 😉
QAt first I thought this will be bad but then I remembered it’s the games and cartoon that suck not the comic sooooo it might not be terrible?
YOU KNOW
Maybe we need this! 😮
It’s going to show just how different these characters really are with each other? o.o
Can someone say… a Boom and Modern crossover video game after this?
I’ve actually wanted this. Not because it may he a fun gameplay experience, but I want to see Modern Sonic ask Boom Sonic what is up with the scarf and tape! XD
All I can think at this point is “this is beneath Mega Man”
Seeing X next to that thing made me feel a little sad. You know just when you think your career cant get any lower Then Megaman X7 and that IOS game this has to happen.
Sounds.. intriguing.
First crossover: Hey someone got peanut butter in my chocolate and it tastes great.
This crossover: Alright peanut butter and chocolate back together this will be great cant wait to sink my teeth into this. (take a bite) UGH! someone put a nugget of shit into my peanut butter and chocolate dammit.
Ruined forever.
Also @Soulsonic
FUCK THAT NOISE! Bad enough it has to exist in the same universe (by which I mean OURS) as normal Sonic, I don’t need it in a game I’d actually buy.
“Ruined forever.” Like I haven’t seen that before.
That’s the joke.
I’m not looking forward to it though.
Welp, I knew that this was gonna be a mess of a crossover, even more so than the first. And if they’re really gonna just toss everything into here then I can’t wait to see them toss in Megaman Zero, Volnutt from Megaman Legends, or heck, just toss in BOTH Megaman.EXE and Geo Stellar from Battle Network and Star Force! Or even Bad Box Art Megaman! Who cares about making a story, let’s just toss every single Megaman and Sonic Universe we can into this!
SATAM! SONIC X! SONIC UNDERGROUND! CLASSIC SONIC!
The sad thing is this is probably gonna be the end result.
Yep.
Donnie going to need help. One of my comments has been devoured by spam…
Taken care of. It’s amazing how much the spam folder fills up. lol
Thanks! Really Appreciate it! ^-^
Rant Time Kids: Why are they hinting an interaction between the X and Boom universe? Just why?! It makes NO SENSE what so ever. Sonic Boom is more comedic than anything else (Which is Fine). The X Universe on the other hand is an more edgier and a darker take on the Megaman franchise. A universe that is constantly at war with murderous virus infected, psychopathic robots that aim to wipe out humanity, should NOT be interacting with animals that have fun comedic adventures while also fighting a egg shaped scientist. It screams FANSERVICE at it’s worst. I don’t care if the space time continuum was disrupted (AGAIN) just so these characters can interact with one another. My problem is why did they decide to use the X Universe for this, when they EASILY could’ve have chosen the other Megaman franchises that would fit in PERFECTLY. Battle Network, ZX, Legends, or even Starforce for the matter, would’ve been fine. The X and Zero Games are KNOWN for being the darker entries of the Megaman Franchise. It doesn’t FIT. Look, I realize some of you are going to come and attack me. “But Predaking, why are you judging the crossover when it hasn’t even come out yet? You should wait and see before you judge it.” That isn’t my problem. The problem is why the X Universe? Why choose it? I’m POSITIVE that it’s because 1) The Megaman X games are the second most popular games in the franchise with the classic series being the first. 2) Archie has been doing a LOT of stuff with the X Series that it makes since considering how popular it is and they know most fans want a Archie Megaman X Comic (Myself Included). My problem with this crossover is that it feels they’re just trying to add WAY too much material for one crossover and the fact that the X Universe feels so out of place in terms of what universes will be in this crossover. Don’t get me wrong, I will be reading the crossover, but my expectations will be LOW, and I mean really low. Sorry, but I don’t like the possiblity of X and Sticks (Or even Boom knuckles for that matter) having an interaction with one another, because it doesn’t Feel right. I honestly would of preferred if they just announced a Megaman X comic really. But that’s just how I feel. Again, I don’t want anyone coming at me and telling me that I shouldn’t judge before the thing is released. I will be reading the crossover but just with very low expectations. This is my personal opinion and I will stand by it dammit. END OF RANT
And then the enter button was invented.
And Why Boom and X ? In order to announce that in this crossover, we will have those worlds too. And why those character ? Because it’s the joke : A paranoïd badger interacting with X, who seems a bit… intriged ? And you talk about the comics where a Black Arm have “Dark Wisps” as allies, so it’s not so strange. Flynn blend the humor and the serious in his style, and that’s why MMX can be in this crossover.
And Flynn has already answered your rant : « Lemme break it down for you: remember in “Worlds Collide,” when it was just this big, fun celebration of Sonic and Mega Man?
“Worlds Unite” is that, but with MMX and Boom as well. There will be funny stuff. There will be dramatic stuff. And it’s going to have a monstrous cast. We’re having fun with it, just like the last time around.
As for MMX being too gritty: you do recall fighting the three-foot-tall penguin-man that barfed ice statues, right? Or the group of killer robots named after Guns n’ Roses? Hologram Light dressed as Ryu that gives X the game-breaking Hadoken? =P
Yes, MMX has some darker themes than Classic, and it did some dark stuff on occasion, but it’s not impossible to mesh with the other franchises. »
Yeah sorry, should’ve spaced out my rant more ^-^
*I’m talking about Sonic Boom, not Archie Sonic. Yes, Ian Flynn is capable of making Archie Sonic blend the tones of being serious and being funny together, there’s no doubt about that. But I’m talking about the Boom Universe. Do you honestly expect X or even Zero for that matter, to be able to relate to these characters? X and Zero aren’t the type of guys to be very humorous. At least in the original crossover, Megaman and Sonic were able to relate to one another to a certain degree.
“As for MMX being too gritty: you do recall fighting the three-foot-tall penguin-man that barfed ice statues, right? Or the group of killer robots named after Guns n’ Roses? Hologram Light dressed as Ryu that gives X the game-breaking Hadoken??”
I also seem to recall Zero sacrificing his life for X’s by taking a fatal shot from a Severed Sigma at the end of X5 WHILE the space colony was falling to earth which resulted in Humanity having to live underground as a result of the contamination of the crash.
“And Flynn has already answered your rant : « Lemme break it down for you: remember in “Worlds Collide,” when it was just this big, fun celebration of Sonic and Mega Man?”
Yeah I remember it being a fun celebration of Sonic and Megaman… But only because it was assumed that there wouldn’t be a sequel to this. The conclusion to the original crossover made it seem that it wouldn’t happen again, and here we are. It really feels like massive Fanservice that will end up being a disaster. I cannot emphasize that they’re trying to shove WAY too much material into one crossover.
If that’s what you believe fine, but I will continue to have my doubts about this crossover.
This is great. They have to do something to beat the last cross-over, right? Maybe they should tie in Sonic Underground and Sonic X, just for the heck of it.
Donnie, once again, my reply to Kazhuz has been devoured by the shadow realm… Would be great if you could help me out! ^_^
How about everyone just buy more Mega Man comics to support that series instead of Sonic? It needs all the helps it can get.
Better idea:
Buy Megaman 9 and 10
Buy Smash Wii U/3DS with Megaman in it
Buy Megaman X1 X2 and X3 on Virtual Console
Ingore the comics since they can’t even adapt the first 3 games correctly without bringing up crossover bullshit or slapping in Super Adventure Rockman for no damn reason when it shouldn’t have even been brought up till way later.
Following the games in a regid fashion would be boring.
Like the Sonic Genesis arc.
But there’s a difference, Megaman is much more canon heavy than Sonic. Why would Super Adventure Rockman take place before Megaman 3’s events even began?
@RobotHobo64
It’s called “adapting”. There’s nothing wrong with being creative and putting a new spin on something everyone’s already used to.
If it were exactly like the games, there wouldn’t be a point in featuring it.
I like that the Super Adventure Rockman arc gave a valid reason for Wily to be working with Light as opposed to them randomly working alongside their worst enemy for no reason. Also, all the stuff with Ra Moon tying into Shadow Man’s origin is pretty cool. Just my two cents.
As long as there is a joke about the scarf and sportstape, I’m fine
I’m really intrigued to see how modern and boom amy would interact, same with modern amy and sticks
Also buff knuckles joke, it needs to happen
I love seeing some of you all just taking this WAAAAAAY too seriously.
Live a little, would ya?
Oh riiiiiiiight.
Because Capcom can only give Megaman more exposure through COMICS, and not actual games.
Gotta do something with him, I guess.
