Metallic Madness Day 2 Results and Analysis

It was another wild round of voting on Twitter today as Metallic Madness entered day two. After nearly 1,200 votes, here is where the brackets stand for this weekend’s matchups:
The brackets are all setup for the Saturday and Sunday matches, which will decide what we’re calling the Speedy 16.
Some observations from the day’s action:
It’s Good to be Bad. In several matches today, the bad guys prevailed. It happened primarily in the weak Mobius division, where Snively notched an easy victory over Dulcy, and Egg Army marched over Antoine. Sacre bleu! Known thief Rouge stole an easy one away from Charmy. Even the cute Muttski couldn’t bark up the right tree against Rotor. OK, Rotor’s a good guy, but still…that hurt.
Matchups of the Century Sometimes Aren’t. Friday’s bout between Segabits and Sega Nerds was touted a good bit on social media. But the seeding got the story right, with Bits advancing to face third seed Tails Channel. Segabits has already compared themselves to Donald Trump–can they bully and bloviate their way to another victory?
Who’s More Edgy? Both Shadow and Silver appear to have easy paths along the edge of the Chaotix bracket to the division final. A Shadow-Rouge matchup could throw a wrench into the ultimate life form’s hopes. If a classic 1 vs. 2 match happens, who will have more support among you and your fellow fans?
To Destroy This Many Generations Takes…One Day. By the end of Saturday, of the four Sonic generations that remain only two will survive. They are all pitted against one another. The Classic v. Modern battle is sure to fuel longtime emotions within voters. Boom Sonic, meanwhile, pulled off an upset. Can he do it again versus a more formidable third-ranked Super Sonic?
It’s Still a Fun, Silly Competition. Everything’s made up and the points don’t matter. Just like Whose Line! Except we don’t sing. We can sing if you want! Would you like to hear us sing? No? Well, here’s the voting schedule for the weekend. Remember that voting only takes place on our Twitter feed.
