Fan Fridays: Zelkova

Back in the day, Sonic AMV’s were quite the rage. In fact, some might argue that they’re still popular today. Twitter user Zelkova proves this assumption by offering a unique spin on the genre. Instead of syncing animated cutscenes to music, Zelkova showcases raw uninterrupted gameplay, adding old-school aesthetic filters to create a window into the past. Alongside the gameplay is some retro disco-esque music from Japan. While a simple concept, these two elements blend together to form nothing short of a dream-like environment that’s a pure joy to experience for both your eyes and ears.
