Miku Non-Mondays: Hatsune Miku Performs On Letterman

Purists may not appreciate the fact that she sung in English as opposed to Japanese, but last night was a pretty major step in the journey of vocaloid and computer generated singer Hatsune Miku after she performed ‘live’ on The Late Show with David Letterman, one of America’s top television programmes.   The soon to be retiring host seemed rather bemused by the whole affair, but Miku seemed to make a good impression as she sang the song Sharing The World, appearing and disappearing in a swirl of digitised wind.

In terms of crossover appeal Miku probably won a whole new fanbase last night, the expo certainly generated more interest and, perhaps the most necessary, SEGA are probably going to sell a fair few more copies of Project DIVA as a result.
