Tokyo Game Show 2008 Exhibitor Lineup

Leipzig is over and apart from a run through of a single Sonic Unleashed level showing humans and Chip nothing major was given away. Any fans eagerly awaiting a new trailer to show off more new levels and elements to the story were left disappointed. Early impressions of Sonic Unleashed are generally positive with the main gameplay getting a well needed bit of quality even if the frame rate takes a hit now and again. Questions remain over the Werehog but generally things are looking up from Sonic 06.

Now every Sonic fans attention turns to the Tokyo Game Show as the next place to get one last look of the game before it’s unleashed on the public (pardon the pun). The Tokyo game Show and Sonic have had a lot of history. Sonic 06 got a good showing there and more importantly a demo of the game was released over X-Box Live a good month before it’s November release. Hmm, two years later and we have another TGS and another Sonic game being released in November. Nothing has been mentioned yet but I’ll certainly be watching eagerly on XBL around the time of the TGS for a demo.

Casting an eye over the Tokyo Game Show Website (which is in English!) and a list of exhibitors has been revealed. Sega is in there, obviously, so it’s a safe bet that they’ll be showcasing Unleashed. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot more of MadWold and Beyonetta.
