Of course it’s a boost game. Sega playing it safe as usual. Also why don’t you guys wait till tomorrow morning to post the gameplay shown? That way, we won’t have to judge the game off of camera footage.
1. We don’t know all of the gameplay. This is only a third of it. There’s a new style of gameplay with a new character in the game.
2. It’s from the panel, it’s news, it’s still something to relay.
Well, my mind is telling me that a new character might be playble in the game. remember how, silver and shadow coming as a new character?. they were playble. so, thats my thoughts on this brand new title. i love the engine and it feels great to bring back the hedgehog engine 2.0.
Actually, we know 2/3 of the gameplay styles, thanks to this https://www.sonicstadium.org/2016/10/sega-project-sonic-2017-will-introduce-a-new-character-and-a-new-gameplay-component/
(The TSSZ News team may have covered this). We know Modern Sonic was going to have 3D Stages and Classic Sonic will have 2D stages. This was also easy to infer without the article considering that the team who made Generations and Colors are developing Forces. With this inference, I kind of have a reason to complain about Sega not being ambitious and sticking with what the majority likes.
It was because Sega did not play it safe with Lost World and BOOM that Sonic made Sonic’s reputation a joke to most people, even though Colors/Generations were well received.
They’d do well to stick with what works and improve upon it. If you don’t like it, Sonic Mania will be available for you.
Any more high rez photos or video? The source footag is not 720P even though it was upscaled to that format.
I still love the name of the title. its kinda like All sonic’s from different universe working together.
I loved what I saw. The whole gameplay seems dynamic, and I have always been a sucker for boost styled games. I am glad that style is back.
Although exciting to see First gameplay footage, can’t say seeing modern boosting through a city is exactly groundbreaking… 10 years later.
I can now sympathize with people hating on too many Green Hill Zones. Not quite hating yet, though. Will wait to see the rest of the levels first.
Although hey, at least this city’s on fire.
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s panel!
