South Carolina AG Pushing for Entertainment Industry Lawsuit
From SegaDojo:
South Carolina attorney general Charles Condon has written a letter to fellow attorney generals, suggesting that a lawsuit be brought against the ENTIRE entertainment industry for the supposed advertisement of sex and violence aimed at kids.
The letter is basically a wake up call to this country, exposing the pervasive and devastating impact which Hollywood is having on the children of America. It quotes: “For the almighty dollar, Hollywood is chasing our children with sex and violence. The FTC has delivered to us the smoking gun and we must use that weapon in court against Hollywood.”
He continues, in the letter, by stating that the industry’s attempt to “police itself have been an utter failure. Hollywood’s influence and power in Washington simply keeps on ticking. Instead of Joe Camel, Hollywood uses Eminem, South Park, Doom and Quentin Tarantino to seduce children.”
Continuing on: “Hollywood has set a trap for our youth and springs it every day with a new movie, a new game or a new CD, each more explicit and violent than the last. Just like tobacco, nothing will be done, no change in irresponsible behavior will occur, until we see Hollywood executives inside a courtroom.”
We have a feeling this is going to escalate further, so stay tuned for the latest on this turn of events.
