Sonic Movie Star Ben Schwartz Victim of Hacking

The actor who voices Sonic in his upcoming Hollywood debut from Paramount Pictures said on Twitter this evening that his account was compromised by hackers.

Ben Schwartz said the perpetrators send DMs to followers pretending to him, asking to meet up, and providing a fake email address:

Below is a copy of the DM correspondence sent by the hacker through Schwartz’s personal account. It is unclear how many individuals received this message.

Schwartz also called out a spoof Twitter account, with a handle similar to his, that has been, in his words, “messing people.” The account in question has since been removed by Twitter after it was reported.

Schwartz has taken the attack in some stride, and has changed his password to prevent further trouble. The person or persons responsible – and their motive – are currently unknown.
