Sonic Mania PC Requirements Revealed
The official PC system requirements for Sonic Mania are now publicly available on Steam, and for those of you running older hardware, these specs should be music to your ears. The minimum and recommended requirements are as follows:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7
Processor: Pentium 4 1.6GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 9.0c compliant video card 32MB
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Storage: 400 MB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 / 8 / 10
Processor: Core 2 Duo
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 9.0c compliant video card
256MB
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Storage: 400 MB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
For the uninitiated, this is an incredibly lightweight game. For reference, the earliest Pentium 4 CPUs clocked at 1.6 GHz were released in July of 2001, a whopping sixteen years ago. The beefier Core 2 Duo chips required to hit the recommended tier first hit the market in 2006, so even a decade-old machine should run Mania without issue. In short, if you’ve purchased a Windows PC within the last decade-and-a-half, you’ll be able to play Sonic Mania.
