Amazing!
That is all? I figured Sonic was more popular
Read the article. It has been seven years since this happened. Sonic has fallen into obscurity thanks to Sonic Team’s “efforts” which have turned off many people.
Actually, it’s not because of the quality.
Sonic Lost World and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric released on the Wii U, consoles that very few had. So they already had a limited audience as it was. The 3DS version of Lost World wasn’t even promoted, and it doesn’t help that handheld Sonic titles don’t really sell. They never do, especially in the last 15 or so years.
The other reason? SEGA simply hasn’t been releasing new Sonic titles as much as they used to. Between Generations and Mania, we got Lost World and some Boom titles. And that’s it. Lost World came close, it sold 710,000 copies as of March 31st, 2014. But not quite.
If Sonic really fell into obscurity, Sonic Mania wouldn’t have sold over a million copies with next to no promotion at all.
Well I guess fans choose sonic mania over forces. But it’s ok. Sonic Mania is doing quite amazing since it’s launched.
Well deserved.I wonder what the console breakdown is, I’d be really interested in PC numbers.
