Sonic Corner Updates 6/3/2000
We have new information about The Sonic Network. About one hour after The Sonic Scene posted news about JD Harding’s radical changes, more corrections were made, and now, TSN is accepting all sites again.
However, what you will not find unless on TSC’s message board is exactly what that will mean:
Okay, I’ve changed the policies again. All sites are allowed to join, free or purchased. I shouldn’t give in to people who whine, but I too felt it was unfair. I got the idea from IGN, however, in the many years IGN have been online, they’ve only acquired 140 sites, out of the thousands of game sites online. I’d rather acquire thousands of Sonic sites, than just a small percentage.
But, people have to be resonable. I will not accept PokeSonic, or Sailor Sonic sites. Multi-themed sites don’t fit in a Network based on Sonic the Hedgehog sites. And all sites on the network MUST have the network banner at the TOP of their site’s FRONT page. It’s not a lot to ask. I don’t care if someone’s design is thrown out of whack. If someone can’t do a little work in placing a banner in a specific place, then they are not serious about joining the Network. The banner links to the list of sites on the Network. It’s only FAIR that a network member places the banner so people can visit that list and pay their respects to those other sites on the network. It’s not stupid, it’s FAIR. I don’t want just a large list of Sonic sites. I want a NETWORK of Sonic sites.
That’s all I have to say about that. Fairness is what I want in my network.
However, these new policies will not have an effect on TSC for a while, because JD Harding announced very early today that he is taking a break from TSC:
This site will be neglected for awhile. I have decided to take a vacation. I’m starting to develop bad ideas for this website, and it’s because I’ve been working on it for too long. So for the rest of this month I will be on vacation from online work. I plan to start a large project with my music, and work on it from now till the end of the month.
I will not be evaluating Network sites while on vacation. You can submit your sites, and I will evaluate them in July.
I have removed both of my MP3.com albums. This is part of the large project I plan on doing. Anyone whom has bought one of these albums should cancel their order ASAP.
Anyway. That’s all I have to say. My vacation starts now. Any negative feedback sent to me about this will be ignored. I have to do this. Otherwise I will go insane and start hacking at T.S.C. with a chainsaw. 😉
And that is all for now; certainly the last few hours have been one of many changes for TSC.
