Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed 3DS is rated by ESRB
Looks like we might have some surprises with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for Nintendo 3DS.
There might be some other differences besides some game modes and simpler missions this time. Or at least, that is what can be taken off the ESRB rating of the game, who has been recently revealed.
This portable version will be rated E for Everyone, a surprising fact since the desktop console version is rated E+10. In the description of the rating there is no word on curse words, blood or a track with giant spiders, what makes us think that maybe the House of the Dead track might be absent from this version, along with no voice acting for the characters ( or at least, not a certain “damned” word included in the desktop console version) .
This, along with Sega being very quiet about the game release date in Europe ( is well known that 3DS and Vita version is being delayed on America, but Sega still lists it as a November release for Europe) makes us wonder what will happen to 3DS users of the game. Will it be out in time in Europe o will it be delayed too? and how much of the content from the desktop console version will be butchered, will it have less tracks?
There is less than two weeks until the game reaches shelves ( in Europe, at least, if it not delayed like in America), so we will know soon.
Hoping for the best!
A portable ASRT is kick-a**!
Well it does say “it might let out comical yelps” so I guess that’s something.
Geez, SEGA. You ALWAYS have to make the 3DS version different, don’t you? They did this with Generations, and now their doing it with ASRT. I’m somewhat dissapointed that the 3DS version always gets the bare minimum.
@Gnat,
1. It’s not Sega. It’s even the same developer as Generations 3DS.
2. Generations 3DS HAD to be different. It was on the 3DS.
@x,
That’s not what I meant. There were a few differences in the 3DS version that were not necessary, though. It could have had more levels (the console versions had two more than the portable), better cutscenes (it REALLY wasn’t necessary to replace cutscenes with a bunch of talking heads). Modern Sonic’s levels didn’t have to be 2D, either, but I’m fine with it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love the 3DS version, I just don’t get why it always has to have huge differences from other versions of the game. ASRT looked like it was no different than the console versions, but now its possible entire levels are being taken out.
I apologize if I sounded like a ticked-off idiot in my last comment. These few tweaks they’re doing to the 3DS version just seems to annoy me.
Again, if I got on anyone’s nerves, I’m sorry. Ciao.
I don’t really hold Sumo in very high regards so this doesn’t really surprise me.
That’s great Sumo. The kids will be so much happier this way.
Where’s that DAMN fourth racer?
They probably toned down the graphic detail in the 3DS version, which makes sense because it is not as powerful as the other consoles. It may even have a few alternate tracks like ASR on DS. ASR on DS was fine by me, so this shouldn’t be any different.
^Graphics shouldn’t be an issue, seeing as how the 3DS has handled HD before. Otherwise, it would have been realised on Wii. But your probably right with the alternate tracks. I’m guessing they replaced a few of them.
@Gnat1
HD is a resolution not a measure of graphical quality. A resolution which the 3DS doesn’t hit. That being said, yes the 3DS is able to make visually (and I stress VISUALLY) better games than the Wii due to access to better shaders among other things.
@Skai Cyan, I suppose thats a better way of putting it. I got HD confused a bit.
