Sonic 1 & 2 To Be Taken Down From Xbox Live Arcade & Wii Virtual Console

It was only a matter of time. It has been announced that the 16-bit versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 will be removed from the Xbox Live Arcade & Wii Virtual Console tomorrow, October 30th.

The Mega Drive / Genesis classics will cease to be available via the service on Friday 30th October. The Xbox Live Arcade versions are also being taken down at the same point.

While the news came from Japan it is being assumed that this will be a worldwide removal. If so and you don’t have the games yet time is running short.
