Shenmue Movie Planned
From SegaDojo:
According to AM2’s official Shenmue website, the company is releasing a full-length CG animated film version of the game to theaters early next year. By January 20, the film will see its release in Tokyo, followed by showings in at least four other Japanese cities the following week.
The game will likely stray just a bit from Shenmue Chapter One: Yokosuka simply because this will be a film, not a game, and all elements couldn’t be successfully integrated into a non-interactive movie.
No media of the new completely CG look have been released, though with how Yu Suzuki’s game looks with real-time graphics, the computer animation should be brilliant. With a Japanese screen release in just about a month and a half, we’re sure to see some clips of the film pop up on the Internet soon.
One of the stranger features of the film (that is currently known), is that only English speaking actors have been used for voice work.
