Shenmue 2 Release in Trouble?

According to Gamers.com, the game has been mysteriously taken off the release dates list:

The sequel to Shenmue, the game with the original genre (Free Reactive Eyes Entertainment, or FREE for short), is not on the release schedule of Sega Japan’s web site. As of October 5, it is still not present anywhere on the release list, including the section “release date undecided.” Traditionally, the “release date undecided” list is flexible and any game announced stays on the list until its status changes one way or the other. The lack of presence of Shenmue 2 on the list could potentially indicate that the game is in serious condition.

Shenmue 2 was rumored to be in trouble a month ago when Keiji Okayasu, the main director of the first Shenmue abruptly quit Sega along with his right-hand person, Noriko Ishimoto.
