Sega to Make you Pay Per Play?
Sega of Japan is considering adopting a format which would allow games to be sold at about one thousand yen, the equivalent of about ten US dollars. However, with this price, only about twenty percent of the game would be accessible. To finish the game, one would have to log into Sega’s website, and plunk down more money. It sounds like it could work, especially for gamers with a tight budget, and it could sell more games in a market where the Dreamcast, while in second place, is just barely hanging on. However, some don’t like this, as many are used to plunking down fifty dollars for playing the whole game.
