Sega RX-3 Being Auctioned
A former member of the Sega Development team has posted a Sega RX-3 console on EBay! We think this was the alleged “Black Belt” that everyone was talking about way back when. Here’s what he said:
This is a very RARE ITEM! Sega did not intend the “public” sale of this special model system!
I aquired this from my 5 years working for Sega’s Dev team.

Allow me to clear up some confusion with this system’s specs…
The Sega RX-3 360-degree Motion Rendering system is a high level 3D Processor that will process on average 65,000 more polygons per second then the Playstation ever could;-)
The MarsX Enviroment is something most if not all of you Sega addict’s have never seen. It is a compilation of the Sega MarsOS which was scrapped as Project Mars was dropped all together. MarsX is a 32-bit Operating System ment for Developers Useage mainly but serves a HUGE front for the regular user as well. The Main interface features a large 640×480 desktop complimenting the ever so enhanced MarsX Sonic Team logo (this pic rocks!). Once the MarsOS is loaded (1-2sec tops) you will be overwhelmed by a load of tool’s at your disposal. You can debug almost any game and dump its info to the internal 16mb Ram and then run your game using the modified code. Great for cheating at those particular games without the game knowing your cheating, heh. MarsOS also features the Sega Dial-up networking client with integrates the Mars Web Browser 1.1r2. This allows for integrated Web Browsing and a streamlined Dial-up client, its a very smooth experience which allows for integrated web browsing, telnet support, IRC support and real-time Java Console. The MarsOS Browser also supports HTML,JavaScript, Java 1.0 and Java 1.1, SSL 1.0, Wav’s, Mp3’s provided buy the integrated Mp3 Decoder thanks to the Xing Dev Team. All in all I don’t think you could possibly be dissapointed by this product.
Finally, the 32-x Build #2… This is a stepped up revision of the 1st model 32-X Console Add-in. As we all know, the Sega Mars was ment to be an integrated Geneses/32-X, however the RX-3 is an Integrated Saturn/32-X. Theres a completely new 2D/3D Engine and an all new Texture format to process even more polygons per second. This is the 32-X you only wish you had, but sadly was not released… I hope this clears up any information about the system…
Good luck in bidding on this item as there is only 1;-)
Feel free to e-mail me with any question’s you may have that I did not cover in the above FAQ.
This complete system also includes a copy of the MarsOS-X Developer Tools which is 649mb of Sega tools you can use to create your own games, modify current ones beyond your beliefs, or just tinker with the MarsOS in general.
Again, Good luck and happy bidding!
I am going to try and contact the person who is selling this, and we should have a full update by the end of the weekend. If you want to bid, you can here (link no longer active). Good luck, the current bid as of this writing is 720 bucks, and it ends April 1st.
