Sega Reports Loss

Sega reported today a 17.98 billion yen net loss in the past half-year. Sega pointed to the cut in the overseas sales price of the Dreamcast as a major reason for the net loss. Sega dropped the price of the Dreamcast in an effort to combat the release of the PlayStation 2 console.

Shares in Sega closed up 24 yen or 3.09 percent at 800 yen prior to the net loss announcement.
