SAGE 2009: Sonic: Emerald Hunt
My coverage of SAGE 2009 continues with yet another 3D attempt at a Sonic game. The gameplay for Sonic: Emerald Hunt is very similar to Sonic Robo Blast 2. The main difference between the two fan-games is the style of sprites used.
FanGameRevolver released the latest demo of the game back in May. He brought with the release a number of tasty new features:
- 3 playable characters
- 3 emerald hunt levels (the three in the middle of the adventure field)
- 3 action levels
- 1 boss level
- An adventure field
- Ranking and medal system
This update brought the game up to version 1.3. There is one bug with the load game feature in the demo. This is easily fixed though, FanGameRevolver has a fix up on the booth.
The booth itself is very simple. Just the one page is used to list the games features, show the demo via YouTube, and FanGameRevolver has even got a small review written up for the demo on ‘YoYo Games‘.

I’m pretty sure we’re all tired of this SAGE stuff, start showing information on REAL Sonic information.
^What’s wrong with SAGE coverage? Get off your high horse.
Maybe I should have made an announcement, but…a large majority of the news you see this week will be SAGE related. We’ll still have other stories, and they will be sprinkled in between the SAGE coverage.

Now THIS is something I’d like to try out. 🙂
Also, @RavetotheGrave, you want real Sonic news? Find some yourself and send a Tip to T.
Real Sonic news is actually kind of dry right now. We know what’s coming, but a anything mainstream is probably still in early stages of development, and the next game release is still a fair way away.
Still, Comic-con’s up, may not be too much Sonic news but there’s plenty of SEGA in general. I know they recently showed a 9min world premier video for Iron Man 2.
