SAGE 2000: Jan Abaza Booth / Game Details
…basically it’s a 3D Sonic amateur game programmed in The Games Factory. And when I say programmed, I mean programmed. Although the KNP engine has been designed to make game creation easier, general knowledge claims that it is impossible to design a perfect Sonic game due to ‘user-friendly’ limits. So I decided to eliminate the stuff that makes it easier with those limits by programming the game from scratch…and using Event Editor to do it. Everything in the game – Sonic’s movement, animations, level stuff – is controlled via Event Editor. Sonic and his shadow are static objects, but they repostion in playfield by player pressing keys. The result is a PolySonic 8 like movement, with 90% of the filthy movement and camera popping problems eliminated completely.
Seven zones totaling twenty one levels will be included, and there is a 460K demo available.
