SAGE 2000: Dragonmind Software
Dragonmind’s booth contains some tidbits on an upcoming Sonic RPG project being worked on. Here’s a preview of what the battle system should consist of:
The Battle System is live action. As the characters progress in levels they learn new combat techniques to use. This includes being able to combo more, new moves, and upgraded moves. For Sonic, as an example, He eventually learns a Uppercut, which (timing comes into play here again) combos depending on how many moves you can combo. And then Sonic, a while after learning uppercut, upgrades uppercut into a new uppercut in which Sonic throws his enemy to the ground after the combo.
Two other non-Sonic games were unveiled as well. Force Sword, rumored to use an engine like that of Sonic Epoch, will have the player try and master hundreds upon hundreds of moves to destroy the enemy. And Mega Man Force, said to have an engine similar to that of Half-Life, will be multiplayer capable, include intensive learning systems, and have battles done in real time.
