SAGE 2000: Blazefire Productions’ Booth
Blaze is showing three games at SAGE. In addition to Sonic: The Fated Hour, Sonic Eternity and Sonic Infinity are also available to see.
Sonic: The Fated Hour: One of the main goals of TFH is to have a fully working 2D engine based on a Sonic Adventure style. Springs should bounce correctly, so should skidding, and even a Light Speed Dash, according to Blaze’s info. It’s possible that Sonic could speak as well! Graphical quality is said to be top notch as well. As for the storyline, Sonic will be out for revenge against Eggman when Tails gets murdered in his sleep.
Sonic Infinity: This game will be based around the MegaMan series as well as the Sonic series. According to the info in Blaze’s booth, the game will incorporate “Sonic’s speed, Megaman’s Playability, and Megaman X’s techniques”. Fifteen stages, seven hidden levels, and a completely fan made soundtrack will be the highlights of SI. The game will open with a storyline that involves a pod of a frozen Dr. Eggman…the Eggman Sonic thought he destroyed in TFH. Sonic will get an ‘upgrade’ and once again set out to crush Eggman.
Sonic Eternity: Development hasn’t even started on this yet, but according to Blaze, it will surpass SI with a more MegaMan X oriented engine, more extras, power ups, upgrades, and what is currently being called a Lighthawk Dash. Graphically, Blaze is calling it 2.5D, a la Yoshi’s Story for the N64. He is looking into some engines right now. The storyline is a bit sketchy right now, but we do know it will pick up where SI left off, and multiple plots and sub-plots will be included.
