Post-Reboot Sonic Archie Comics Sales Released
It seems this is the weekend of sales numbers. However this time we have sales news to present to you for something that typically ignores revealing them: the Sonic comics.
Courtesy of Comichron and passed on via Sunwalker on the SSMB, we have sales numbers on the Sonic Universe and Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series from Archie that have been released following the comic reboot that occurred as a result of the Worlds Collide crossover. They are as up to date as they possibly can. Even Sonic Universe #73, which came out within the past month, is listed.
Here is a list of the best to worst sales numbers for post-reboot Sonic the Hedgehog issues:
Here’s a similar list but for the post-reboot Sonic Universe issues:
Lastly is the main thing: an overall chart of how things have been fairing for both series:
The line marks when the price of the comics were increased from $2.99 to $3.99. Although there was a decline in the number of comics sold this doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re losing money. The increased price may be negating whatever lost profits had been made. In fact it isn’t out of the question that they’re still profiting from this. One thing is for sure though. The Worlds Collide crossover was very successful and it seemed to have caused somewhat of a brief high for the immediate issues that followed.
So what does this all mean? The comics are doing okay. And with the Worlds Unite crossover on the horizon things may very well pick up once more.
