News Shorts 3/12/2000

Russell Blakley has a new audio show up on the Sonic Saga, entitled “Live Wire with Russell Blakley”. You can hear it by going to the Sonic Saga site.

Here’s some info on the next version of SRB2Xmas from Sonikku:

* SCORE / RINGS / TIME – time will be in minutes:seconds, as the only alternative is the very confusing DooM tics (35 tics in a second. O_o)
* KILLS / ITEMS / SECRET is removed from the tally-up screens, and replace with SCORE / TIME BONUS / RING BONUS ( though we’re still keeping K/I/S for Grading purposes (But Grading won’t be in SRB2:XMAS… yet? ;-D)
* Lives and continues, which vary with skill levels.
* ‘Cakewalk’ skill will now throw you out of death pits if Sonic falls into them.
* On the other hand ‘Very Hard’ will give you no rings and only one life and no continues! That means a one-hit game over, on top of enemies being faster and respawning!
* Extra life TVs! *Starts humming the Sonic 1 / 2 Extra life theme*

And speaking of Sonikku, he is actually going to be filling in for me on the WSSN Sonic Scene to be aired sometime this week. It should be funny, so be sure to listen in on WSSN.
