New Community Music Compilation: Christmas Chaos
You may or may not have heard of Charles Hamilton. He’s a big Sonic fan who knows how to put down some hip-hop beats, and he recently put out a mixtape, Sonic the Hamilton.
Now, he is confirmed to be a part of a major musical undertaking by several members of the Sonic fan community, particularly those over at Sonic Retro.
Christmas Chaos won’t be out formally until the beginning of next year, according to organizer Shadix, but its intentions are still to spread some fanmade holiday cheer:
The Christmas Chaos project is rather simple, it’s an attempt to make a community\contributory Christmas album that we can all listen to for years to come, giving the community it’s own unique way of celebrating this universal holiday (even if you aren’t religious Christmas is still a huge part of our culture that has transcended it’s original meaning into a sort of super-holiday in itself.).
The plan is to get as much content as we can done by the Christmas holiday, however the formal release of the album won’t be until at least the 1st quarter of 2009 depending on how things pan out. We’re still looking for potential artists, don’t let the 1st wave deadline be a reason for you not to participate.
In addition to Hamilton, two OCremix artists are taking part in the album, Darkesword and Blue Magic. In addition, InstantSonic, the long standing “voice” of Sonic in the community for years, will have a role, as will Sonic Retro admin Tweaker. Your input is still welcomed also–head over to the official thread for the project to get more information.
