New Asian System Plays Genesis Games and More
Have a gander at this from Segadojo: a company in Asia and Sega is trying to revive the Mega Drive, as well as give those cartridges a new, current look:
Sega has teamed up with Xin Tianli Electronics Ltd to create a new hybrid game player. The player is capable of playing a variety of formats from VCD, and SVCD to CD’s and MP3’s on CD.
The player will also play Sega licensed 16-bit Mega Drive games. These games are published on what has been dubbed Game VCD (or GVCD).
Don’t expect this to be seen in the US or Europe, though. No plans have been revealed to get this to domestic areas.
