IP Blocks Removed In SE Asian Version of Phantasy Star Online 2
Well this was sudden.
Users in the west and in Australia who wanted to play Phantasy Star Online 2 were unable to for years. Not only was the game not available despite an English patch but they were region locked via IP bans and forbidden to play.
Those measures have now been removed. However, the theme of things “sort of” happening continues this year. Although players can play the game there’s quite a few catches:
- This only applies to servers in the southeastern portion of Asia.
- This version is outdated by a couple of years where it is loaded with grinding and is more unbalanced.
- The English patch hasn’t been updated in a couple of years either.
- Speculation exists where the move may or may not have been intentional. We don’t know for sure.
We’ll let you know of any further developments.
