Inside the Pages: Sonic Universe #31

Today, IGN posted the preview pages for Sonic Universe #31, which should be in most subscribers’ hands by now. The series continues the Scourge: Lockdown saga, and it inches closer to the green hedgehog’s elaborate escape.

In the pages below, we see Scourge meeting up with Fiona Fox, amid other horsing around. He will have to become allies with members of the Destructix in order to make his break from the Zone Jail. Ian Flynn penned the script, and as always there are a cavalcade of characters handling art duties, both inside the issue and on the cover.

Those details are in the synopsis, and following that is the cover and first five pages of issue #31.

I got this issue like last week or something. Sadly enough Flying Frog’s flashback sequence only lasts one page. 🙁

Oh, at first I imagined him but then I thought you where talking about some Sonic character.

Anyone mind telling me what the fuck happened to Fiona? Since when is she a bad guy? I just got back into the comics and seeing her appear on these covers with Scourge (the previously known “Evil” Sonic) is…….weird as shit.

It’s a little complicated, but… from what I know, Fiona fell for Evil Sonic (who was disguised as Good Sonic at the time), thinking he was Good Sonic, becoming Good Sonic’s girlfriend later on, while trying to play for the heroic team for a while. After Evil Sonic became “Scourge”, she realized that there were 2 Sonics, and Good Sonic wasn’t the one she fell in love with. It’s later revealed that she was having an affair with Scourge behind Sonic’s back, which resulted in the 2 breaking up and Fiona getting the Ban-Hammer from Freedom HQ, and she quickly became a villian afterwards as Scourge’s girlfriend and leader of the “Destructix”.
