Industry Group UKIE Issues Statement on Referendum Vote
Thursday’s referendum vote by the United Kingdom to leave the European Union has case a wide net of uncertainty around the world, in nearly every respect–political, cultural, and financial. We are making efforts to bring you information and a broader understanding on the decision’s effects as they relate to Sega’s ability to do business across Europe and the UK, where its largest footprint in the West remains.
Trade agreements between the UK and the rest of the world is one of the key matters in limbo in the wake of the referendum–in a nutshell, endangering abilities for British bodies to do business with Europe and the world absent firm policy. This morning, Ukie, the British-based body that supports trade initiatives within the country’s game industry, issued a statement about the impact the vote could have on the firm and its members. Sega Europe and Sonic Dash developer Hardlight are among Ukie’s hundreds of members.

Ukie will continue to work hard with colleagues in government to ensure we continue to have the best possible business environment and we will be following developments closely as well as advising members as they unfold.
We will continue to bring you any referendum developments as they may relate to Sega as warranted in the short and long term.
