IDW Selling Sonic #27 Wondercon Variant Online

It would, normally, be difficult for comic fans to buy convention exclusive variants, at cost, without being at the convention hall. Even then, copies run in limited quantities, making it a race against time to grab a collector’s item.

But we no longer live in normal times, and neither does IDW. So as a way to serve fans who would have normally attended the now canceled WonderCon this weekend, IDW has made their entire lineup of WonderCon exclusive variants available for sale online. That includes Sonic #27, with a new RE variant cover by longtime Sonic comic contributor Evan Stanley.

These are physical copies. Each issue costs $10, and IDW is running a buy 2, get one free deal, along with free shipping for orders over $35.

This issue would not have been impacted by distributor Diamond Comics’s recent work stoppage, as these issues would have been printed ahead of time for distribution at WonderCon. That will begin to happen after the release of Sonic #28 and the 2020 Annual, slated for later this month and the first week of May, respectively.

The sale runs through Sunday.
